The Function of Prayer
Inspired by prayer, this design is its simple, but powerful function expressed as a mathematical statement.
I was listening to Tony Evans, as I routinely do, during one of my walks and he stated that “the function of prayer is to change things.”
Now, being that I am a developer by day, I was immediately inspired to express that statement as a programmatic function, however, the simplicity of it expressed as a mathematical function proved to be a better choice visually.

SlumberCats
Inspired by Daniel 6, this design is a mashup of The ThunderCats and the story of Daniel in the Lion’s Den.
Slumber. Slumber! SlumberCats, Ho!
Growing up, there were few things better in life than watching cartoons, and ThunderCats were one of my favorites.
Recently, while studying Daniel, the author mentioned an angel shutting the lions’ mouths and Daniel using the big cats as pillows.
Now I don’t know if he did that, but when I heard the illustration, this ThunderCats / Danial 6 mashup immediately came to mind.

Lord Willin’
Inspired by the phase that begins or ends every sentence uttered by the “old folks” at your church, this design is from James 4:15.
Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring—what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes. Instead, you should say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”

Enoch Faith
Inspired by Jordan’s iconic silhouette, this design is about how Enoch’s walk of faith truly gave him “flight.”
By faith Enoch was taken away, and so he did not experience death. He was not to be found because God took him away. For before he was taken away, he was approved as one who pleased God.

Milford Academy
Inspired by a fictional school in one of my favorite TV shows, this design is about being neither seen nor heard at The Milford Academy.
I am a die-hard fan of the “Arrested Development” TV show.
Long before streaming was a thing, my wife and I would binge watch the seasons on DVD, and now, I fall asleep to it on Netflix on most nights.
I have memorized the first three seasons: the last two, not so much. 🙂
Anyway, I found the whole founding concept of The Milford Academy, or The Milford School, where children are to be neither seen nor heard, hilarious!
Even though it is a fictional school, I just felt like it would have an Ivy League type crest and designed this.

Hold My Mule
Inspired by Pastor Shirley Caesar’s iconic sermon, this design says “hold my mule” so I can give God praise.
Look, if you’ve heard Pastor Shirley Caesar’s iconic “Hold My Mule,” then you already know what inspired this design. If you haven’t, I encourage you to watch the video, and you will. Nuff said.
